Design a vCard QR code that still scans on a business card
Contact records often contain more data than a simple URL, so a vCard QR can become dense quickly. Decide what people truly need to save, then style the code around reliable scanning rather than forcing every profile field into a small printed square.
Control density by trimming fields
Every phone number, address line and long note adds modules to the symbol. Keep one primary phone and email, shorten postal details where appropriate, and remove empty or repeated fields before judging the final size.
Use strong foreground contrast
Choose dark modules on a light, solid background. A brand green can work when it remains visibly darker than the background; pale colors, transparent backgrounds and gradients across individual modules require much more testing.
Treat a logo as lost QR area
Keep the logo modest and centered, never cover the three finder patterns, and select a higher error-correction level when adding it. Higher correction improves damage tolerance but also makes the code denser.
Protect the quiet zone in artwork
Leave a clear margin at least four modules wide on every side. For a handheld business card, start around 25–30 mm and enlarge a dense vCard or any code that must be scanned from farther away.
Test the saved fields, not only the scan
Print at final size and scan from several phones. Confirm the contact preview maps the name, organization, phone, email and website to the intended fields before approving a full print run.
