Why use UPN QR instead of asking the payer to type everything?
UPN payment orders combine IBAN, reference, purpose and due date. UPN QR transfers them into a compatible Slovenian bank app and avoids mistakes in long SI or RF references.
Keep reference with the IBAN
The payer does not have to switch between invoice lines while typing.
Prepare EUR and due date
Amount and deadline are imported into the payment order.
Use a predictable symbol
UPN fixes QR version, correction level and character encoding for interoperability.
Inside the QR code
What is stored in a UPN QR payment symbol?
UPN QR is a 20-line payment payload beginning UPNQR. It stores the amount as 11 digits of euro cents and ends with a three-digit control value based on field lengths.
The symbol uses QR version 15
Version and error correction M are fixed instead of selected for the smallest possible QR.
Character encoding is ISO-8859-2
The ECI marker identifies the Central European character set expected by the standard.
Amount is 11 digits of cents
EUR 81.05 is stored as a zero-padded integer.
Reference supports SI or RF forms
Copy the complete reference from the payment instruction.
The final line is a length control
It sums the lengths of the preceding fields including line separators.
UPN payload example
SI IBAN · EUR 81.05 · SI reference · COST — UPNQR\n...\n00000008105\n...\nCOST\n...\nSI56...\nSI05...\nRecipient\n...\n182 — A compatible Slovenian banking app reads a prepared UPN payment order.
Check before publishing
- Use the IBAN shown on the UPN instruction.
- Copy the complete SI or RF reference.
- Enter purpose code as four letters.
- Use DD.MM.YYYY for due date.
- Do not reduce or restyle the fixed version-15 QR.
- Compare all imported fields in a Slovenian banking app.
Checks to make before publishing a UPN QR code
UPN fixes technical QR settings, so the form focuses on accurate payment data rather than visual customization.
Copy from the payment order
Use current recipient, IBAN, reference and purpose.
Check euro cents
Confirm decimal placement after scanning.
Keep addresses concise
Respect the 33-character recipient field limits.
Preserve the fixed symbol
Do not add logos, custom colors or change correction level.
Test the final print
Version 15 is dense and needs adequate physical size.
Features
Features
Scheme-specific validation
Account identifiers, amount formats, references and field lengths are checked for the selected payment standard.
Generated locally
The payment payload and barcode are created in the browser; the generator does not move money or register an account.
PNG and SVG exports
Download a raster image for everyday use or a scalable vector for invoices and high-quality print.
Protected fixed formats
Standards with prescribed rendering disable incompatible color, logo, shape and error-correction controls.
Optional payment context
Where the scheme permits it, prepare an amount, reference, due date or message to reduce payer entry.
Verification remains visible
The workflow reminds the payer to compare the beneficiary and amount in a compatible banking app.
