Why use SPAYD instead of asking the payer to type everything?

Czech account data, variable symbols and due dates are awkward to enter from a paper invoice. SPAYD places these fields in a compact QR Platba descriptor.

Carry the variable symbol

The invoice identifier reaches the payment form with the account.

Prepare amount and due date

Reduce mistakes in values and deadlines.

Use a transparent text format

The SPD payload can be inspected and validated before publication.

Inside the QR code

What is stored in a SPAYD payment symbol?

SPAYD uses a text descriptor beginning SPD*1.0 followed by asterisk-separated key-value fields such as ACC, AM, CC, X-VS, DT and MSG.

ACC uses IBAN

The receiving account is encoded as a validated Czech or Slovak IBAN.

AM and CC describe the payment value

The amount uses a decimal point and currency uses a three-letter code.

X-VS carries the variable symbol

Use up to ten digits exactly as required by the invoice.

DT uses YYYYMMDD

The date picker is normalized to the compact SPAYD date.

Reserved characters are escaped

Percent signs and asterisks in messages must not break the field structure.

SPAYD payload example

CZ IBAN · CZK 480.50 · VS 1234567890 — SPD*1.0*ACC:CZ58...*AM:480.50*CC:CZK*X-VS:1234567890 — A compatible Czech banking app prepares the account, amount and payment identifiers.

Check before publishing

  • Validate the IBAN.
  • Use digits only for variable symbol.
  • Use a supported three-letter currency.
  • Check the due date selected.
  • Shorten the message if scanning is difficult.
  • Verify account and identifiers in the banking app.

Checks to make before publishing a SPAYD code

Variable symbol accuracy matters as much as the receiving account because it is often used for automatic matching.

Copy data from the invoice

Use the current IBAN, amount and variable symbol.

Choose the invoice currency

Do not assume CZK when the account expects EUR.

Keep the message concise

Put essential information in the variable symbol first.

Test app interpretation

Confirm that each field lands in the expected payment form field.

Print at a readable size

Long descriptors create denser QR symbols.

Features

Features

Scheme-specific validation

Account identifiers, amount formats, references and field lengths are checked for the selected payment standard.

Generated locally

The payment payload and barcode are created in the browser; the generator does not move money or register an account.

PNG and SVG exports

Download a raster image for everyday use or a scalable vector for invoices and high-quality print.

Protected fixed formats

Standards with prescribed rendering disable incompatible color, logo, shape and error-correction controls.

Optional payment context

Where the scheme permits it, prepare an amount, reference, due date or message to reduce payer entry.

Verification remains visible

The workflow reminds the payer to compare the beneficiary and amount in a compatible banking app.
