Why use PAY by square instead of asking the payer to type everything?
PAY by square moves Slovak invoice data into a compatible bank app without retyping IBAN, amount and variable symbol. Unlike plain-text formats, its payload is compressed and Base32hex encoded.
Prepare complete Slovak payment data
Keep beneficiary, IBAN, EUR and invoice identifiers together.
Reduce variable-symbol errors
The reference is scanned directly from the invoice.
Use the format familiar to Slovak apps
Compatible mobile-banking apps can decode the PAY by square symbol.
Inside the QR code
What is stored in a PAY by square payment symbol?
PAY by square serializes structured payment data, adds CRC32, compresses it with LZMA and encodes the result with Base32hex. It is not interchangeable with Czech SPAYD.
The payload is binary-derived
The visible characters are a transport encoding of compressed structured data, not editable key-value text.
A Slovak IBAN is required here
Use an SK IBAN belonging to the intended beneficiary.
EUR amount must be positive
The selected payment order carries a fixed amount.
Variable symbol remains numeric
Use up to ten digits from the Slovak invoice.
Compression does not provide authenticity
CRC and encoding detect corruption but do not verify the beneficiary.
PAY by square payload example
SK IBAN · EUR 123.45 · VS 987654 — 000...BASE32HEX-COMPRESSED-PAYMENT-DATA — A compatible Slovak banking app decodes a prepared EUR payment order.
Check before publishing
- Use a valid SK IBAN.
- Enter a positive EUR amount.
- Keep variable symbol numeric and at most ten digits.
- Select a real due date.
- Test the generated symbol in supported Slovak bank apps.
- Verify beneficiary and account before approval.
Checks to make before publishing a PAY by square code
Because the payload is not human-readable, visual testing and comparison inside the banking app are essential.
Source fields from the invoice
Copy beneficiary, IBAN, amount and variable symbol.
Keep the note short
Essential invoice identity belongs in the structured variable symbol.
Use the exact due date
Do not confuse issue date and payment due date.
Avoid manual payload editing
Any character change can corrupt the compressed data.
Test supported apps
Confirm every decoded field before distribution.
Features
Features
Scheme-specific validation
Account identifiers, amount formats, references and field lengths are checked for the selected payment standard.
Generated locally
The payment payload and barcode are created in the browser; the generator does not move money or register an account.
PNG and SVG exports
Download a raster image for everyday use or a scalable vector for invoices and high-quality print.
Protected fixed formats
Standards with prescribed rendering disable incompatible color, logo, shape and error-correction controls.
Optional payment context
Where the scheme permits it, prepare an amount, reference, due date or message to reduce payer entry.
Verification remains visible
The workflow reminds the payer to compare the beneficiary and amount in a compatible banking app.
