How to Create a QR Code for Text

Text QR codes allow users to create a QR code containing any piece of content. When scanned, the text content will display directly on the scanner's device.

Steps to Follow

  1. Go to the website qrcode-gen.com.
  2. Select the QR Code generator feature.
  3. On the QR code creation screen, select the Text tab.
  4. In the Enter text content section, input the content you want to encode into the QR code.
  5. The text content is limited to a maximum of 4,000 characters.
  6. Click Generate QR Code to create the code.
  7. The QR code will appear in the preview area on the right side of the screen.
  8. You can open the Title & description section to enter additional identification info for the QR code.
  9. You can open the Customize QR Code section to change colors, shapes, frames, or logos.
  10. Adjust the QR Size if necessary.
  11. Select the download format: PNG, SVG, or EPS.
  12. Click Download in your selected format.

Notes

  • The text content is stored directly within the QR code.
  • The maximum limit for text content is 4,000 characters.
  • The longer the content, the denser the QR code pattern, making it harder to scan.
  • It is recommended to prioritize short, clear content so the QR code is easy to scan and displays well.
  • For longer content, consider using a QR code that links to a URL instead of embedding the entire text directly into the QR code.
  • Before printing or sharing, you should test scan the QR code to verify the content and readability.
