Guide to Customizing Domains for QR Codes

The custom domain feature allows users to change the default QR code domain, for example from https://code.nineqr.com to a custom domain like https://code.yourdomain.com. This feature helps enhance brand professionalism and builds trust when users scan the code.

Terms of Use

  • Custom domain is only available for Advanced and Pro plans.
  • If the account is on the Free plan, the system will display the message: Custom domain is only available for Advanced and Pro plans. Current plan: free.
  • Users must upgrade their plan before they can save and activate a custom domain.

Setup Steps

  1. Log in to your QRCODE-GEN account.
  2. Go to the Work page settings area.
  3. Find the Domain section.
  4. Under the QR code section, the system displays the default domain:
    https://code.nineqr.com
  5. Select the Custom domain option.
  6. Enter the custom domain you wish to use.
    Example:
    https://code.yourdomain.one
  7. Access your domain registrar/DNS management page.
  8. Add the DNS record according to the information provided by the system.
    Example:
    • Record type: CNAME
    • Name: code.yourdomain.one
    • Value: code.nineqr.link

  1. After adding the DNS, return to QRCODE-GEN and click Save.
  2. Wait for the system to verify and activate the domain.
  3. Once configured successfully, the status will display:
    • Hostname: active
    • SSL: active

Notes

  • Ensure you enter the correct domain/subdomain you wish to use for your QR codes.
  • Ensure you add the correct CNAME record as instructed by the system.
  • DNS propagation may take some time, depending on your domain registrar.
  • It is recommended to use a dedicated subdomain for QR codes, such as code.yourdomain.com or qr.yourdomain.com.
  • Do not point your root domain if your main business website is already using it.
  • Once the custom domain is active, dynamic QR codes can use the custom domain instead of the system's default domain.
